So many tech-commers look at (or write about) Web 2.0 as if it were some sort of race to be the first expert or guru on a given technology.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;You correctly emphasize the most important point, though: the aim should be to gain enough knowledge and skill to build trust with the user. That policy and marketing knowledge as well as those skills that you mention are key to success here. I just wrote a post called "Technical Writers and Conversations" where I talk about determining your greatest links internally in your company - is your department's value proposition placed closer with sales/marketing or with technical support? That'll help you determine which conversations are going to be most useful to you, as well as help you figure out when to bail out and find someone else to talk (although, we can always listen). Thanks for posting!</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/60519089531078052/7689192517467717685/comments/default/7317426002698658499'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/60519089531078052/7689192517467717685/comments/default/7317426002698658499'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://www.helpscribe.com/2008/04/current-trends-in-technical.html?showComment=1208664240000#c7317426002698658499' title=''/><author><name>Anne Gentle</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/17185009432657862878</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='21' height='32' src='http://bp3.blogger.com/_gkGR_desyl8/R5EPf1jlJsI/AAAAAAAAAyk/hOFBcgD39Nc/S220/Anne_003_small.jpg'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://www.helpscribe.com/2008/04/current-trends-in-technical.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-60519089531078052.post-7689192517467717685' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/60519089531078052/posts/default/7689192517467717685' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1437356157'/></entry></feed>
